Raban Remembered: Jerusalem's Forgotten Master

Published in 1982

Zeev Raban came to Palestine in 1912 at the invitation of Boris Schatz, founder of the Bezalel School, after studying at the art academies of Munich, Brussels, and Paris. He combined his training in the Symbolist School with traditional Jewish motifs, drawing freely on Persian, oriental, Classical Greek, and Art Nouveau elements. The 120-page catalogue contains three major scholarly articles by the exhibition curators: Gideon Ofrat, Dr. Taube Greenspan, and Batsheva Goldman.
