SEEING IS BELIEVING

  • Painting. Drawing. Sculpture. Tapestry. Installation Art. Students learn to relate form and meaning, understand historical contexts, and appreciate the power of the arts
  • From paintings to Psalms, students are inspired to notice deeply, embrace ambiguity and develop empathy

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS

  • 14 schools and more than 40 educators and 300 students have participated in the program
  • New partnerships are in development in cities across the U.S.
  • We are adapting the program for Jewish camps and community centers for youth and adult learners

YUM & LOCAL MUSEUM COMPONENTS

  • Summer Teacher Workshop on LCE learning framework
  • Full-day Seminar at YUM or regional museums for teachers and students
  • Coaching Program- Advisors and teaching artists provide follow-up support throughout the year
  • Talking Circles - YUM coordinates phone and web-based consultations among participating teachers

SCHOOL COMPONENTS

  • School-based Teams – two or more educators per school participate in a summer workshop and ongoing projects and professional development
  • Full-day Seminars at Museums teachers and students participate together
  • Classroom Integration – teachers incorporate new methods in their classrooms
  • Half-day Workshop for Teachers immersive art making or museum experience
  • Talking Circles – teachers participate in phone and web-based consultations
  • Final Projects –students create projects demonstrating integration of their learning (workbooks, performances, mini exhibitions, digital initiatives)
