Moritz Daniel Oppenheim: Jewish Identity In 19th Century Art
This catalogue, in German and English, was published in 1999 by the Jewish Museum of Frankfurt am Main, Germany, to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of probably the most important Jewish painter of the 19th century. The retrospective exhibition was jointly organized by the Jewish Museum in Frankfurt and the Hanau Museum at Schloss Philippsruhe. It opened at Yeshiva University Museum on January 30th, 2001. The catalogue, edited by Georg Heuberger and Anton Merk, contains numerous essays analyzing the artist's career and oeuvre written by an international roster of scholars.
